Happy Birthday

Is everyone ready for the new Christmas release at Lili of the Valley?  There will be lots of sneak peeks and fun prizes on the LOTV Ideas to Inspire blog and, of course, all the adorable new images will be available soon!  Just wait until you see them!  Remember to check the LOTV Ideas to Inspire Blog on the 18th when all the fun starts!

Before the sneak peeks of the new release start, I have another card to share using one of the adorable images from the last release, Emma Presents.  She is so sweet!  I paired the image with some patterned papers from My Mind’s Eye’s Just Dreamy 2 line.

I die cut my image with a circle nestability die and then colored it with copic markers.   I used these marker colors: BG000, BG01, BG02, R24, R27, R46, R89, E000, E00, E11, E13, R20, W1, W5, W7, W9, YR12, YR16, YR18, R30, R32, E30, E31, E53, E55, E57, E59, YG63, YG67, E37, B32, B34, C2.  After coloring my image, I masked it and used my air compressor and few copic markers (YR30, YR32, W5) to spray the floor and background behind the image.

I stitched all my layers, added some ribbon and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and a sentiment from the Happy Circular Sentiments stamp set.

I decorated the inside of my card with the same patterned papers I used on the front of the card.  I added a sentiment from the A5 Verses stamp set.  I stitched my layers and finished it off with a little red felt heart.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Lovin'

Hi Everyone!  Wow, July is already speeding past, isn't it?!  I can't believe how quickly the summer is going by.  Of course, we finally just got some warm weather so maybe that's why it doesn't seem like July should be half over already.

I just love the amazing sentiments that Ann Vento's creates for Whimsy Stamps.  She has such an amazing style and her choice of typography is perfect!  (Whimsy Stamps also has adorable images from a few different designers, including Crissy Armstrong.  Her images are always so cute!)  Anyway, I had emailed Ann telling her how much I loved her new release last month and she asked if I might like to guest design for Whimsy Stamps for the July release and I had to say yes!

The new stamps are available to purchase in the store right now (released yesterday).  There are 5 new images from KennyK and 4 new sentiments and 2 new dies from Raindrop Echo Designs (Ann's line).  The design team and a few guests, including myself, are featuring cards and projects using the new images from July 13-19th and having a fun blog hop on July 20th.

For my card today, I used three stamps from Ann's Raindrop Echo Designs line.  The amazing background stamp I used on the front paper (with the chicken) is the new Vintage Bottle Labels stamp.  Isn't it amazing?!  I love all those fonts and the style is so realistic!  The sentiment is from the Summer Letter Seals stamp set.  The newspaper print is the Classified Ads background stamp.

I stamped the two background images and the sentiment on cream cardstock using cocoa ink from Close to My Heart.  Then, I sponged antique linen, tea dye, and walnut stain distress ink around the edges of all my papers.  I used patterned papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop line.  I stitched my layers together and curled the edges of my newspaper and ad pieces.

I added some red cherry blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts along with some other flowers from my stash.  I used the martha stewart branch punch to punch the white pieces in the floral arrangement.

You can see more projects from the design team and guest designers by visiting the Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Blog.

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Time to Relax

It time for another challenge over on the High Hopes blog.  The new challenge is Fun in the Sun.  This challenge was perfect for me.  I inked up a couple of stamps that I just got from High Hopes: Beach Girl Patti and Fillable Beach Scene.

I stamped Beach Girl Patti on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and again on Eclipse Masking Tape.  I cut out my mask and put it over my image.  Then, I stamped the Fillable Beach Scene over my image.  I used some patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness patterned paper pad.

I colored my image with these copic markers: W1, W3, E31, E33, E30, E37, E87, BG72, BG75, E000, E00, E11, E13, R20, R24, R27, R89, R30, R32, B32, B41, BG0000, colorless blender.  I used a sentiment from Lili of the Valley's Mixed Circular Sentiments stamp set.  I used some red cherry blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts along with some white roses and other flowers from my stash.  I punched the white "greenery" using a martha stewart branch punch.  I stitched my layers before adhering everything to my card.  I use Aleene's Original Tacky Glue to adhere my flowers and foam adhesive to adhere my image and sentiment.

Come join us in the challenge for a chance to win some free stamps!  Have a wonderful day!

love you

Hi Everyone! Sorry I am late with my post today.  My little one is teething and I just didn’t get a chance to finish up my card last night so I could post it.  Today is my turn to post over on the Stampavie blog.  When I was deciding which image to use for my card today, I came across this adorable image from Gillian Roberts called Teenage Love.  My husband and I met when we were kids so it kind of reminds me of us back then.

Isn’t this such a sweet image?!  I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I used these markers: Y35, Y38, R20, R22, R24, R27, R29, R89, B91, B93, B95, B97, YG95, YG97, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, E53, E55, E57, E59, E31, E33, E35, E37, E29, E49, E000, E00, E11, E13, colorless blender.  I used some patterned papers from College Press’s Hometown Summer line.  I added some stitching and some blue baker’s twine.  I die cut my sentiment using a labels 8 nestability die and added my image and sentiment using foam adhesive.  The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps' Half Pint Heroes set.

Have a wonderful day!

did you get the memo?

Hi Everyone!  Did you all have a good weekend?  We were gone camping and it was so nice to get away.  The weather was nice and not too hot.  We camp in the woods and we only saw a couple people all weekend.  It was a great weekend.

Lawnscaping_Ch_13_400
I have the pleasure of guest designing this month over on the Lawnscaping Challenge blog.  You know I love those cute images from Lawn Fawn so how could I say no when Laurel asked me to join them in the challenges this month?!  The new challenge this week is "don't forget the inside."

For the challenge, I pulled out the Just My Type and Just My Type Too stamp sets.  I thought they were the perfect sets for this challenge.  I used the typewriter from Just My Type on the front of my card.  I love that you can customize the sentiment that goes on the piece of paper!  I stamped the image with tuxedo black memento ink on copic x-press it cardstock and on my patterned paper (from Making Memories).  Then, I used some patterned papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop paper pad.  I colored the image with copic markers (sorry, I didn't write down the numbers) and layered a second piece of paper coming out of the typewriter with foam adhesive to give it a little more dimension.

I wanted to create the look of a piece of paper stuck to a cork board on the inside of my card (hence the kraft card base).  I stamped the sentiment from Just My Type Too on a piece of yellow cardstock.  Then, I stamped the tack from Just My Type on the top of the yellow cardstock and again on red cardstock.  I cut out the top of the tack I had stamped on red cardstock and adhered it to my yellow piece.  Then, I adhered my memo using foam adhesive.

Come join us in the challenge for the chance to win a great prize!  Thanks so much to Laurel and the rest of the Lawnscaping challenge ladies for letting me join you this month!

Have a great day!

Waltzingmouse Stamps July Release Day 2

Welcome to Day Two of the Waltzingmouse Stamps July release!  Today, we are sharing sneak peeks of two new sets called Big Day Essentials and Big Day Additions.  Just wait until you see the fonts Claire chose when designing the sets!  The sentiments are just beautiful!

Isn't that a gorgeous font?!  I decided to create a CAS card where the beautiful sentiment could really shine.  I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock using archival black CTMH ink.  I added a dark blue mat and punched a small hole in the corner.  I used a beautiful piece of patterned paper from Chatterbox (in my stash a really long time, but perfect for this card).  I wrapped the ribbon around the side and adhered it to my white card base.  Then, I threaded the ribbon through the whole and attached my sentiment piece with foam adhesive.  I tied the bow and added a little wedding bell charm.

Hop around to the rest of the designers' blogs to see what they created with the new sets:

Thank Ewe!

Hi Everyone!  It's time for another High Hopes challenge.  This week's challenge is a Thank You theme.  I used the adorable Posey's for Ewe image and the Thank Ewe sentiment for my card.

I paired the image with some patterned papers from Echo Park's Springtime Collection.  I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I used these markers: RV32, RV34, V99, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, BG000, YG93.  I die cut the image with a circle nestability die.  While the image was still in the die, I used my air compressor and the BG000 marker to lightly spray the sky.  I didn't mask the image.  I just tried to stay around the edges when spraying.  I stitched my patterned papers together and added a couple green buttoms before adhering the piece to my card base.  I adhered my image using foam adhesive and added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I used the Martha Stewart Leaf Frond punch to punch the patterned paper leaves.

Come join us in the challenge for a chance to win some free stamps!  Have a great day!
