For my card today, I pulled out the adorable Easter Bunny image from Sylvia Zet's Wee Stamps line.  I just love her images and this one is so cute!  I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink.  Then, I colored it with copic markers that coordinate with the patterned papers I chose from October Afternoon's Sidewalks paper pad.  I love the colors and papers in this line.  They just seem perfect for spring images.  I used these copic markers to color my image: Y35, YR20, YR21, YR23, R20, R21, R22, R30, BG72, W1, W3, W5, W7, R24, R27, R46, E19, E31, E33, E35, BG11, YG63, YG67, colorless blender.

I die cut the image with a Labels Eight nestability die and then, while the image was still in the die, I masked the image with some Eclipse Masking Tape and used a copic marker (BG11) to spray the sky.  I also sprayed the ground after I added the grass flicks.  (I forgot again about the overspray I get with some colors and ended up with the green overspray.  It looks kind of neat so I just embraced the look and went with it.  It was too late to change it by the time I remembered I should have masked the sky before doing the grass.)

Anyway, I finished my card with some stitching, buttons, May Arts crocheted lace, some Flax baker's twine, and a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps'  Spring Baskets stamp set.

For my card today, I used the adorable new Bud bunny image from Crissy Armstrong.  I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink.  Then, I colored it with copic markers that coordinate with the patterned papers I chose from My Mind's Eye's Everyday Flair paper pad.  I colored the image with these copic markers: R30, R32, R35, R24, R27, R46, E19, R00, R02, E31, E33, E35, E37, E29, BG0000, BG000, YG61, YG63, YG67, YG97, colorless blender.  I masked the image with some Eclipse Masking Tape and sponged some antique linen and tea dye distress inks around the edge of the image while it was still in the oval nestability die.

I also sponged the distress inks around the edges of my patterned papers before stitching them.  I die cut a doily using a MFT die and sponged the distress inks around the edges of it as well.  I stitched some red buttons in place and added some crocheted lace and maraschino baker's twine before adhering my patterned papers to my card base.  I used a sentiment from the new I Heart You Tabs 2 stamp set and stapled it to my image using the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher stapler.  I adhered my image with foam adhesive.  Then, I finished my card off with some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (20mm deep red open roses, 15mm deep red open roses, and 4mm deep red closed rose buds).

Happiness is in the Little Things

Hi Everyone!  It’s almost time for a new release over at Whimsy Stamps.  Before inking up some of the new stamps, I had to ink up another one of the images from the last release that I hadn’t had a chance to play with yet.

I used the beautiful Bird Swing image from Sylvia Zet’s Wee Stamps line.  Sylvia has such a way with illustrating.  Her images are just beautiful.  I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with copic markers.  I used these marker colors: YG61, YG63, YG67, E31, E33, E35, B12, B14, B16, B32, B34, B37, YR20, YR23, YR24, YR30, YR31, R24, R27, R46, E19, colorless blender. I used some patterned paper from the October Afternoon 5 & Dime paper pad.

I sponged some antique linen distress ink around my image while it was in the oval nestability die.  I also sponged some antique linen and around the edges of my patterned papers, sentiment, and cream card base.  I used a sentiment from the Magical Mini Letter Seals stamp set.  I added some stitching and crocheted lace.  I colored some pearls with a red copic marker to match my red accents.  Then, I finished my card off with some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts (15mm deep red open roses, 20mm deep red open roses, and 4mm deep red closed rose buds).

Have a great week!

Owl Always Love You

A while back, I came across some stamps from The Craft's Meow with some absolutely adorable owl images.  It was love at first sight!  They are so cute!  I finally got the chance to ink up one of the sets I bought when I started my husband's Valentine's Day card.

I used the Happy Owelentine's Day stamp set for this card.  I just love these cute little owls and can't wait to ink up more stamps from this set and the other sets I bought.  (Who needs an excuse to send "I love you" cards?!)  Jenny Suchin has such a way with illustrating these adorable images.  Looks like an Easter set is coming out soon! :)

I stamped the image on Copic X-Press It Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with copic markers.  I used these marker colors: BG10, YG93, YG95, YG97, R27, E55, E57, E31, E33, E35, E37, E29, colorless blender.  I hand cut around the image and added it to white and black cardstock circles that I die cut with circle nestability dies.  I used some patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose paper pad.  I stiched all the layers and added some red buttons and some Peppermint Baker's Twine.

I used the sketch over on The Craft's Meow monthly challenge.  (I'm barely getting this card posted before the deadline, but they'll be posting a new challenge soon.)

Have a great day!

Friends are Forever

Hi Everyone!  I have another sneak peek of one of the new stamps releasing at Winter CHA from Stampavie.  Today, I have a peek at the new Floating Down the River image from Penny Johnson.  Isn’t it such a cute image?

I stamped the image on Copic X-Press It Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with copic markers.  I paired the image with some patterned papers from the Lost and Found Breeze and Blush paper pads by My Mind’s Eye.  I die cut the card base using a scalloped circle grand calibur die from Spellbinders.

I added some white roses and white pearl spray from Wild Orchid Crafts to the corner along with some greenery I punched.  I also added some pearls below the sentiment and some crocheted lace from May Arts.  The sentiment is from Tina Wenke’s new Sweet Wishes sentiment set.

Have a great day!

Project Life 2012: Title Page

Hi Everyone!  January has been a horrible month for us as we keep passing nasty germs around.  We are so ready to be healthy again!  My littlest has been hit really hard and is having a really rough week.  I'm spending most of my time holding and comforting him so there hasn't been any craft time since he got sick.

I thought I would share the filler cards for my title page for my 2012 Project Life album today.  I'm not caught up with my 2011 album, but I plan to work on my current album and work on catching up my 2011 album at the same time.  Of course, I'm a couple weeks behind already with us being so sick this month.  Anyway, here's my title page for my 2012 album.

Just like on my 2011 Title Page, I wanted to include a family photo, individual photos of my kiddos, and a photo of them together.  This year, I also decided to a white borders to my photos.  I'm not sure yet if I will do it with every photo, but I really like how it helps the photos stand out.  I'm printing all my photos using my Epson Picturemate Charm.  I love this little printer so much!  The print quality is just beautiful!

I created this card using some patterned papers from a My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose paper pad.  I die cut the label using a Labels 8 nestability die.  Those cork alphabet letters are from Close to My Heart and I just love them!  I love the texture they add.  The black image under the year is a stamp from a Waltzingmouse Stamps set, Very Vintage Labels No. 4, and the sticker is from a 7Gypsies  sticker set.  I love that quote and thought it was perfect for this project.

My inspiration for this filler card came from Gillian's PL Title Page.  I just loved the look and created a similar card in photoshop.  I used some of her wording and added some of my own.  Then, I printed it on a piece of patterned paper and added the heart and circles on the top.   I die cut the circles using nestability dies, patterned paper, and a cork sheet.  The heart is die cut from red felt, of course.  (It's a pretty red felt and not as orange as it appears on the screen! lol)

Somewhere along the way, it popped into my head that I would like to include a silhouette family to represent our family.  I created this in photoshop and printed it on patterned paper.  I added a little patterned paper banner and a cork number to finish it off.

Are you creating a Project Life album this year?  I'd love to see it!

Have a great week!
