Special Addition

Hi Everyone!  It's my turn to post over on the Stampavie blog tonight.  When I was deciding what image to use on my card, I came across this adorable Sent from Above image from illustrator Tina Wenke.  Tina's images are always some of my personal favorite images from Stampavie.  I just love coloring them and creating cards with them.  I love creating baby cards, too.  I think they are my favorite type of cards to create (along with Christmas cards) and I have a hard time resisting adorable baby images like this one.

I colored the image with markers and used some patterned papers from My Mind’s Eye’s Stella and Rose paper pad. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps'  Welcome Baby Sentiments set.  I finished the card off with some wooden buttoms and twine.  After masking the clouds, I used my air compressor to spray the sky with a BG52 copic marker while the image was still in the nestability die.

If you're looking for a store that stocks many of the Stampavie images, Lacey carries many of them in her store, Stamp and Create.  She even has the adorable baby image I used on this card (under the Tina Wenke section).

Have a great day!

Moments Filled with Wonder: Whimsy April Release Showcase Day 7

Hi Everyone!  Today is the last day of the Whimsy Stamps April Release Showcase.  Whimsy had their April release last Wednesday so all the new stamps, dies, and template files are available for purchase right now in the store.  The design team and special guests are having mini blog hops each day until April 24th.  There are gorgeous samples and chances to win a free stamp each day so be sure to hop around and leave comments.  :)

For my card today, I decided to use the adorable Goldie image from Sylvia Zet's Wee Stamps line.  I just love this little cutie!  I used a sentiment from the Magical Mini Letter Seals stamp set.  (You can click on all the photos to see the larger full size version.)

I used some patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody paper pad.  I colored the image with copic markers (listed below) and added a little glitter to the flowers on the image.  I added a paper doily and a silver filigree corner, cherry blossom and sweetheart blossom flowers, and pearl spray from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I added some Stardust stickles to my flowers.  (I wish you could see the sparkle better in the photos because it's really pretty on the flowers.)  I made my bow and ribbon strip from some cheesecloth I bought at my local grocery store.  I really love the texture it adds.

Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw.

To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on 24 April.

Little Lady: Whimsy April Release Showcase Day 4

Hi Everyone!  Wow, this month has been so busy!  I have two kiddos playing t-ball this year so we spend 2 hours a night at practice at the school.  Add in Easter, my daughter's birthday, computer problems and moving all my files and photos over to a new computer, and all the normal routine stuff and I don't know if I'm coming or going most days! lol  I finally had the chance yesterday to create a card (the first card I've created this month!).

Whimsy Stamps had their April release on Wednesday so the new images are already available for sale in the Whimsy Stamps store.  You can see all 18 new stamps along with the new dies and templates from the April release on this post on the Whimsy blog.  There are daily mini blog hops from the release day until the 24th where you can see lots of beautiful samples from the design team and special guests.  Be sure to leave comments along the way for a chance to win a free stamp that is hidden on one of the blogs.

For my card today, I decided to use the adorable Good Pony stamp from the amazing Crissy Armstrong.  It's such a cute image!  (Is my photo too large for your computer screen?  I'm trying to decide what size works best for most screens.)  I just noticed the twine got tucked under the image so I fixed that on the card, but I guess the photo will have to do. *wink*

I paired the image with some patterned papers from My Mind's Eye's Miss Caroline Dilly Dally paper pad and used some brads from the same line.  I colored the image with copic markers (listed below).  I used a paper doily I purchased from a seller on ebay.  (Drop me an email if you'd like links to the ebay sellers I purchased doilies from recently.  I had great experiences with each of the sellers.)  The sentiment I used is from Waltzingmouse Stamps' Back in the Saddle stamp set and finished my card off with some wooden buttons and hemp twine.

Happy Easter

I can’t believe it is already April!  The year seems to be zipping by already.  Since Easter is next weekend, I had to ink up this little cutie (Chirpy from Penny Johnson) this past weekend when I was creating my card for my Stampavie post.  It’s such an adorable image!

I stamped my image using tuxedo black memento ink on copic x-press it cardstock.  I chose some patterned from October Afternoon’s Sidewalks line and colored my image in coordinating colors using copic markers (listed below).  I stitched my patterned papers and added a white paper doily and some flowers and pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Then, I finished off my card with a cute Easter sentiment seal from Catslife Press.

Have a great day!

Have a Sweet Day!

Hi Everyone!  Wow, this post was a long time coming!  I'm having some major computer issues and can no longer open Photoshop.  I've spent many hours trying to figure it out, but I think it is actually my computer having more issues (it's 6 years old and has been having some problems for awhile).  Looks like I may have to order a new computer sooner than I was hoping.  Sigh.  Anyway, I do still have an older version of Photoshop Elements on my computer so I'm trying to use it to limp by until I get a new computer.  (I miss Photoshop so much!!!)  I also had to recolor the image before I could make my card (more on that below).  Well, enough of that, how about the card? :)  (Sorry the photo is kind of dark.  I just can't get it to look right using PSE.)

Isn't this image so adorable?!  As soon as I saw this little cutie, Lulu, from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, I knew she would be coming to play at my house! lol  She is part of the Lulu and Friends set.  (Lacey also has her in stock at Stamp and Create here.)

She is colored with copic markers (colors listed at the bottom of the post).  I masked the image after coloring to spray the background and the ground with my air compressor.  I used some patterned papers from My Mind's Eye's Miss Caroline: Fiddlesticks paper pad and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I also used a silver filigree corner from Wild Orchid Crafts and used a Snow Cap Paint Dabber to paint it white.  I didn't have blue flowers that worked well with the colors in my image and patterned paper so I used a BG72 copic marker and my air compressor to spray some white flowers to match my color scheme.

I decided to ink her up last weekend so I could play along with the current Kraftin' Kimmie challenge (which is almost over now!), but I had some help with my coloring so I didn't get my card finished until yesterday.  My 21 month old son has been in the habit lately of climbing up on my chair and coloring like Mommy.  I forgot and left my finished image sitting on my desk when I turned around to do something.   I heard the sound of markers on paper and knew exactly what he was coloring!!  Luckily, I had written down all my marker colors so it was easy to recolor the image once I found the time.  Little stinker.  :)

Now, that I finally got my card finished, I'm playing along with the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge which is a sketch challenge.  I'm also playing around with the current Wild Orchid Crafts challenge which is Bingo.  (I used gems, flowers, and lace.)

Have a wonderful weekend!
