Have a fairy special day!

It's Sunday morning which means it's time for another High Hopes challenge.  This week's challenge is brought to us by the the wonderfully talented, Kimmie.  The challenge is to use dry embossing somewhere on your card.  I tried various different things that I wasn't happy with and finally decided to emboss my patterned paper.  It gives a little different texture to the paper that is a fun change from my normal use of patterned paper.  Be sure and join in the challenge for a chance to win some High Hopes goodies.

I was looking through my stamp guide trying to decide which stamp to use for the challenge.  I saw this Lilly the Spring Fairyand had to use her since she hadn't seen ink yet.  Isn't she cute?!  I chose some retired SU patterned paper and some copic markers that coordinate with the colors in the paper.  I colored my image and then cut her out.  I used one of the Label One nestability dies to cut out the green patterned paper and dark chocolate cardstock.  Then, I embossed my patterned paper piece and matted a dark chocolate layer to both patterned papers before adding them to my card.  I stamped the sentiment and added the brown felt ribbon using some silver brads.  I added my image and the mat layers using foam adhesive for more dimension.  Then, I added the green dew drops to my card.

Last, I added some angel wings shimmerz to the fairy's wings to make them nice and glittery.  I think you can kind of see the shimmer in this photo.

I hope you all have a fairy special day! *wink*
