Happy Birthday to You
I am so excited to finally be able to share more of my cards that I have been working on for this month's Papertrey release. The new sets are absolutely fabulous! Today, I'm sharing a card I made with the new Damask Designs stamp set designed by Dawn McVey. This set is so gorgeous and I love it so much!! It will be staying out on my desk as I have lots more color combinations that I still want to try out!
I had to use aqua mist, dark chocolate, and kraft with this set. I love this color combo! I stamped the damask design on my aqua mist cardstock using dark chocolate ink. Then, I wrapped two dark chocolate satin ribbons around my card and added an aqua mist satin ribbon in the center. Then, I cut out a square from kraft cardstock using a square nestability die. While the cardstock was still in the die, I sponged dark chocolate ink all around the edges. I wanted my damask image under my sentiment to be subtle so I inked my stamp up in dark chocolate ink, stamped on scrap paper, and then stamped on my kraft cardstock. (This technique is called secondary stamping.) Then, I stamped my sentiment in true black ink over my image. I love the font that Dawn used with this set. It is so elegant!! I used foam adhesive to add my sentiment block to my card. Last, I added a couple vintage cream buttons to my card.
I had so much fun at the release party last night! It was great to talk to so many of you! Hope you all have a fabulous week!
