I Love You

You all know how much I love Damask Designs and Heart Prints and they are perfect together, too.  I love how versatile Damask Designs is that it can be used for classy or for casual depending upon the color scheme.  I went with classy on my card using black and white with a touch of pure poppy thrown in.

I stamped the damask pattern on my white cardstock and added some black stitching.  I wrapped my true black and pure poppy satin ribbons around my cardstock before adding it to my true black card base.  I cut out a white rectangle using a long rectangle nestability die.  I added some black stitching and wrapped the corners with some ribbon.  I stamped my sentiment and hearts and then added it to my card using foam adhesive.  I stamped one of the hearts from Heart Prints on white cardstock, punched it out, and used foam adhesive to add it to my card.  I finished off my card by stamping the damask pattern across the bottom of a piece of white cardstock and adding some stitching before I put it on the inside of card.

This weekend was spent purging, organizing, and cleaning.  I am a messy paper crafter and my space was definitely in need of a good cleaning.  Every few months, I also go through my paper and purge.  It feels good to get rid of the stuff that has been in my stash forever that I have never used.  Doing this has really helped me to get over hoarding my pretty papers, too.  I find as my style changes and evolves that I am drawn to different things and if I don't use it, I might not like it near as much next time I purge.  My kids love using the purged stuff for paper crafting and my son loves to draw, too.  I also donate to my son's preschool and the local library for craft time so at least someone is getting some use out of it.

Well, have a great week and thanks for visiting!!

Niki

Beautiful. Very striking. I love the attention to detail. The red and black corner pieces add a whimsical feel to what could be a very formal card.

Beautiful card, Niki!! That color combo is great for a man! Romantic, but not girly. :)
BTW, I'm a messy crafter as well! That's probably why I haven't gotten much done!
