Egg Hunt

Welcome to one of the *official* stops on the Papertrey Egg
Hunt!

Look closely and you may find
a hidden egg that's one-of-a-kind.
Perhaps there are more than one or maybe even none!
The challenge is yours, enjoy and have fun!

fun contest!

Today, the design team is highlighting Heather's new set Egg Hunt.  I absolutely love this set!  It is so much fun to have die that matches the eggs and those cute little patterned eggs.  I can definitely see this set showing up on some of my Easter layouts!

Nichole challenged the team to create a card and a wrap using Egg Hunt.  I thought it would be fun to create a quick little wrap for some jelly beans.  You have to have eggs and jelly beans for Easter, right?

I thought I would change it up a little with my card size and created a 3 1/2 x 5 inch card instead of my typical 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch cards.  I love this size and will definitely be creating more!  I used a sheet of patterned paper from the Pretty Pastels collection, stitched it to a vintage cream mat and tied an aqua mist satin ribbon around the top before adhering it to my card.  Then, I die cut and stamped my Easter eggs.  I cut some grass from a scrap of new leaf cardstock and snipped it with my scissors to create the look of blades of grass.  Then, I tucked it behind my sentiment and added my Easter eggs.  Last, I tied a lemon tart button in the center of my bow using rustic twine.

I created this cute little wrap for my jelly beans using some kraft cardstock.  I started with a piece of 4 1/4 x 11 cardstock.  I used a scalloped punch on one end and then scored it to create my wrap.  I stamped the top flap with the flower background stamp including in Egg Hunt and used a rectangle nestability die to cut the window in my card.  I added a vintage cream and patterned paper frame also cut with my nestability die.  I created some more grass and added it to the inside of my wrap.  Then, I added some clear cardstock to hold the grass in place and also as a place to adhere my die cut eggs.  Last, I tied some aqua mist ribbon around the top and added a little tag.

Be sure to scroll down for my first post tonight featuring day 2 sneak peeks at my new Butterfly Dreams stamp set.  Then, hoppity hop on around to all the design team ladies' blogs (Nichole, Betsy, Dawn, Debbie, Erin, Heather, Kim, Lisa, Maile, Melissa, and Michelle) for more sneak peeks at Egg Hunt and to find all those Easter eggs so you can enter in today's giveaway!

Have a great night!

Niki
