birthday mice

How is everyone's week going?  Ours is okay.  My husband was supposed to go back to work this week, but we have been getting too much rain.  So, we're praying he starts back next week.  Employment stuff stinks.  Ugh.  I am praying for the day when things get better for our economy.  I know we aren't alone in how hard things have been lately and are better off than many, but things are still tough.  I really try to focus on the blessings in our lives and to not think about money stuff, but it can be hard sometimes.  I know some of you can probably relate.  Well, anyway, how about something happy like a cute card?

I actually created this card a couple months ago and never got around to sharing it until now.  I used one of the cute little mice stamps from the Penny Black Critter Party stamp set and paired it with some patterned papers from the Material Girl line by Cosmo Cricket.  I used black cardstock to help all the colors really pop and colored my image with copic markers that coordinate with my patterned papers.  I added lots of stitching, a felt flower, and a button to finish off my card.

I spent the morning paying bills and running errands so I have some time this afternoon to scrapbook a little.  I have been doing a lot more scrapbooking this year and haven't been stamping as much the last couple months.  I really want to get a little more current in my scrapbooks before the baby comes.  Right now, I'm working on May 2009 so I'm getting closer.  (I started on January 2007 the beginning of the year!)

Have a wonderful day!

Niki

You do such great work with Copics, Niki.
Your cards are always so cute.
I've purchased cards from your etsy shop, and your work is very good.
You are right about lots of people experiencing lots of downs now because of the economy. Hang in there and concentrate on the blessing of your new baby.

Wow, you have really gotten far with the Scrapbooking. Good for you. This is such an adorable card. The colors are so cheery. I think our rainy, lousy Spring has probably contributed to your mood. I am having such a hard time feeling cheerful when all it does outside is rain. Hope our weather changes and helps to improve all of our dispositions.

I'm with you on the employment stuff. I have been looking for over a year....& have had just ONE interview. Talk about feeling like a loser!! Hopefully things will turn around soon!!

Niki,
That's just adorable and would brighten anyone's day. As DH is retiring and beginning the job search this summer we are worried about how this will effect him, and by proxy the rest of us. Fingers crossed as you travel this bumpy section of your journey. If it helps we would GLADLY take your rain for the summer months.. South Texas can be BONE DRY this time of the year. Will keep you and yours in prayer.

OMG!! Niki, this is so darn stinking cute!! I love your pairing of papers with this image! And your layout is just gorgeous as usual!
I sure hope the economy picks up and that your husband is able to find steady work. It's crazy that this recession has been dragging on so long! Big hugs to you from across the US!!

This is just fantastic Niki! I love your layout and paper combo! Those are just the sweetest mice (I think I have this stamp!) and the bright colors are so much fun!
Best wishes for your hubs to get back to work. Mine doesn't get paid when he's out either and it can be scary! Even though I seriously dislike and stress out at my job I have to thank God that I have it...not always easy though. Hang in there!
