Kickin' It for Michelle

I have said it before, but I love Stampavie stamps.  Their images are so cute!  Anyway, I follow their blog and love seeing the adorable cards the design team creates.  Last week, I read about the accident one of their design team members, Michelle Oatman, had that left her blind in her right eye.  I can't imagine how scary that must have been!  Stampavie is asking for donations on Michelle's behalf to help with some of the medical costs associated with her surgeries and artificial eye.  Tina Wenke, one of Stampavie's illustrators, created this adorable donkey image (on my card below) in honor of Michelle and to help raise money for Michelle.  (More information about Stampavie's donation fund on their blog here.)  Michelle's spirits and outlook are amazing with everything she is going through.  (You can read more on her blog here.)

Michelle is also part of the Spoonful of Sugar design team and they are doing a card drive to fill Michelle's mailbox with cards from all over the world.  Whimsy Stamps also provided a free digital donkey image and sentiments in honor of Michelle.  You can read more about the card drive and all the prizes offered by lots of amazing companies on the Spoonful of Sugar blog.

I am in the middle of working on Papertrey Ink release projects, but I had to make some time to squeeze in a card for Michelle.  I hope it brightens her day a little.  I used the image Tina Wenke drew for Stampavie and a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

I colored the donkey with copic markers and sponged around the edges with blue ink while the image was still in the die.  Then, I decided I wanted a kraft border so I cut around the embossed edge and added a kraft mat.  I punched the sentiment out with a circle punch and sponge blue ink around the edges before adding it to a kraft mat.  I finished my card off with lots of stitching and some red buttons.

Have a wonderful day!

Niki
