celebrate the season

Before we left to go camping last week, I started this card using one of my new Lili of the Valley images, Father Christmas.  I absolutely love this image!  It just reminds me of old time Christmas.  I am playing along with this week's Lili of the Valley challenge which is a sketch challenge.  I love sketch challenges because it takes the thought out of deciding how to put the card together.

I added some fun flock to Santa's coat and hat (though it is kind of hard to see in the photo) and used some polar white flower soft below the image.  I love how realistic the flower soft is as snow beneath Santa's feet.  I received my order from Wild Orchid Crafts last week, too, so I had to use some of their beautiful poinsettias on my card.  (Sorry, I forgot to post the copic markers used when I was typing up my post last night.)  These are the markers I used to color the image: R24, R27, R39, N5, N7, N9, E000, E21, R12, 735, E55, E57, E59, TG93, YG95, YG97.

We had a great camping trip.  The weather was nice most days although it was a pretty cold Sunday (in the 40s).  Luckily, we have our trailer so we were all still comfortable and had fun.  We saw lots of animals throughout the weekend (some deer, some elk, some turkeys), but my favorite was the mama bear and her cub.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Niki, this is one of the most beautiful cards I have seen lately. Oh, I just might have to look at the site and get some stamps..one can never have too many... RIGHT? Are the poinsettias the small red ones or which kind are they. I discovered Wild Orchard Crafts a while back and they have the most gorgeous flowers.
