you make me smile

Yesterday, I had the chance to create this little card to play along with the current Lawnscaping challenge which is to create a CAS card.  Sometimes I have a hard time with CAS so this was as clean and simple as it was going to get yesterday. :)

I started by stamping the flowers from Lawn Fawn's Petite Florals across the bottom of a piece of white cardstock using tuxedo black memento ink.  I colored them with copic markers.  I stamped a sentiment from Hello Friend and a bird from Fly Free and colored the bird with a red copic marker.  I added a couple cloud masks cut with the MFT cloud dies.  I also masked the bird, but I didn't mask the flowers.  I was just careful when I sprayed around them so I didn't spray too much and cover them.  Then, I used my air compressor and a couple copic markers to spray the sky and grass.  You could also use inks and sponges to create the look of the sky and grass.  Last, I added some clear gemstones to the centers of some of the flowers.

Wow, what a beautiful card, Niki! This is "smart stamping" at it's best - just genius. I've been a (quiet) follower for a while now so having you stop by my blog was such a nice surprise! Have a wonderful day :)

This card is adorable Niki. I can tell that you showed amazing restraint in your creating. No sewing, many layers etc. CAS or not, your cards are amazing.

I think this a great job a clean and simple! (Sometimes I have issues telling myself to stop as well... hehe.) I love your coloring and love that you used the copics with the air compressor. I've been too scared to try that technique still. Lol! Thanks for playing along with us this week at Lawnscaping!
