Wishing you well!

With the new year comes new challenges, stamp challenges that is from the High Hopes Stamp Divas.  We always have a challenge every Sunday posted on the High Hopes blog. Every week, you have a chance to win some free stamps just for playing along in the challenge.  So, be sure to join us for the challenge.

This week's challenge is brought to us by the amazingly talented, Crissy.  She illustrates the stamps, makes fabulous cards, and is one of the sweetest people I know.  Our challenge is to use paper tearing on our card.  And it was definitely a challenge for me!  Paper tearing has always been hard for me.  I like my layers to be nice and even. lol

I had an idea in my head for my card and started by stamping my Wishing Well image, cutting it out with a Label Two die, and coloring it with copic markers.  I cut a ripe avocado mat for my image using scissors because I didn't want it to be as wide as the next die choice.

Then, I cut my card base from ripe avocado cardstock.  I measured out about what size I wanted my patterned paper to be and marked it on the back.  Then, I tore the edges and sewed it to my card base.  I cut the striped patterned paper, matted it with ripe avocado cardstock, and stitched the layers together before adding it to my card.  I created the sentiment piece and adhered it to my card using pink brads.

My card still needed something else.  I wanted to add some ribbon and some flowers, but there was no good place for both.  Then, an idea popped in my head to wrap the ribbon around the corners of my image.  I really like how it brings the focus onto the image.  Then, I added my flowers with the stacked button centers to the edges of my image panel to finish off my card.

Come join us in the challenge and have a Happy Sunday!

Niki

Very pretty card but I know what you mean about the paper tearing. I find using the guide from my paper cutter gives me the most even tear.
