thinking of you

I'm back with the last of the cards I created for the Papertrey Ink release.  I think this was one of my favorites.  I love the tree silhouettes against the blue background.

I first cut a square using a nestability die.  Then, I stamped and embossed the tree silhouettes.  While the square was still in the die, I sponged the entire area with spring rain ink.  I used the new pigment ink formula and it sponged beautifully.  Then, I added some enchanted evening ink around the edges.  Even though it was the original hybrid ink, it blended in very nicely with the spring rain ink.

Here you can see the embossing a little better on the trees.  I added an enchanted evening cardstock mat under my image, wrapped some twine and sewed a button on one side.  Then, I sponged the edges of my kraft card base with the tea dye duo inks and dark chocolate ink and stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner before adhering my image with foam adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the sweet comments you leave!  You always make my day!  Have a great night!

Niki

Stunning!! Your sponged inky background perfectly silhouettes the trees. It reminds me of a dusky night sky. Beautiful. Thank you for showing us how you created it. I want to try it out now!!

I've been trying all week to create a card similar to this but I can't get the sizing straight. Do you mind telling me what size the kraft cardstock is?
Thanks!
