birthday girl

I mentioned in my post last night that today is my daughter's birthday.  We had a fun day just my daughter, my son, and I.  We walked to the bakery and got a treat after picking my son up from kindergarten.  Then, we had a picnic outside for lunch, played some games, and had ice cream with candles for dessert.  My husband is still working away from home so he couldn't be here, but he called the flower shop and had them deliver flowers and balloons (she LOVES balloons!).  Her party will be this weekend, but we had to make her birthday special, too.

So, I thought I would share the birthday card that I made for her.  I used this adorable Teddy and Me image from the new Stampavie spring/summer release.  Isn't she so cute?!  The image reminds me of my daughter except my daughter would be packing around a pink bunny instead of a teddy bear.

While creating her card, I played along with the latest Stampavie challenge.  The challenge is a recipe challenge (5 flowers, 2 different ribbons, at least one punch/die cut, and anything pink or blue).  I used Amy Rysavy's sketch from her Friday Sketch challenge for the layout of my card.  I paired my image with some Just Dreamy 2 patterned papers from My Mind's Eye and colored my image with coordinating copic markers.  The sentiment is from my Butterfly Dreams stamp set.  Lots of stitching, some crocheted lace, dark chocolate satin ribbon, and Prima roses finish off my card.

And I had to include a close up of this adorable image just because she is so cute!

Hope you're having a great week!

Niki

Gosh, your coloring is phenomenal! Beautiful card! My daughter turns 9 tomorrow and she's having a sleepover party--wish me luck on that! 4 rowdy girls who will be making their own pizza and for dessert I'm setting up a make your own ice cream sundae bar instead of cake. They're going to watch a movie with popcorn buckets and movie theatre size candy boxes and for Breakfast the next morning, I'm setting up a baked goods buffet with a variety of muffins, english muffins, cinnamon rolls, orange juice, etc. She is SO excited and I already warned the parents that I would be stuffing their kids full of junk! Sounds like I'm a little excited too!
