October Afternoon November Guest Designer Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of my guest designer posts for October Afternoon!  I have a couple more cards to share with you.  In case you missed my edit from last week's post, I messed up my post date last week.  (What a dork, right?!)  Anyway, you can find their post and answers to the questionaire they sent over on the October Afternoon blog today.  (If you're looking for my Rocket Age card, you can find my post from last week here.)

For both of my cards today, I used some goodies from the new Farmhouse line.  You can see the whole line of papers, stamps, and embellishments here.  On the card above, I chose a couple patterned papers from the 8x8 pad.  I dyed a piece of crocheted lace from May Arts using the Red Wagon Sprinkler (spray ink).  After it was dry, I stitched my layers.  The chair stamp and sentiment are from the Farmhouse stamp set.  I sponged some antique linen distress ink around the edge of the oval after cutting it out with a nestability die.  I added a few Farmhouse buttons using baker's twine and then assembled the rest of the card.

For my second card, I used more patterned papers from the Farmhouse 8x8 patterned paper pad along with a journaling card.  I stitched the layers and wrapped some crocheted lace around it before adhering it to my card.  Then, I embossed the doily stamp using the Big Bossy pad from Ranger and some white embossing powder.  I hand cut around the doily.  I stamped the silhouettes from the Farmhouse stamp set using london fog memento ink.  Then, I added the doily and silhouette image using foam adhesive.

Have a great weekend!

Niki

Thanks, Levana! I use a Janome Sew Mini for my paper crafting. It's a great little machine and I like how small it is so I can leave it out on my desk. I've been using mine for almost 3 years now and I use it a lot. I use the Coats & Clark Dual Duty XP Heavy thread. It is a little heavier than the cheap thread you can buy so it shows up better on cards and layouts. Hope that helps!
